In her last games as a Varsity Blue, fifth-year forward Nicki Schutz knocked down 57 points, including a career-high performance, at the 2011 CIS women’s basketball Final 8 championship in Windsor, Ont.

 

Schutz tallied a career-high 35 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Blues to an 82-79 victory over the RSEQ champion Laval Rouge et Or in consolation semi-final action on Saturday afternoon. 

 

The Toronto native opened the tournament with a 12-point, seven-rebound performance in a quarter-final loss to the eventual bronze medalist Cape Breton Capers. She then rounded out the three-day tournament with 10 points, seven boards and five blocks versus the Laurier Golden Hawks.
