The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's lacrosse team fell 10-8 versus the Brock Badgers on Wednesday (Sept. 30) night in St. Catharines.
The Blues started fast, quickly jumping out to a 2-1 lead at the end of the first quarter. However, the home side found their form to take back the advantage at the halftime break. The back-and-forth action then saw U of T bounce back in the third to draw even with the Bagers 6-6. The race to the final whistle would not favour the Blues though as they came up just two goals short in a fast-paced final frame.
Fourth-year attack Daniel Clarke finished with five total points tallying a hat-trick and two assists. Fourth-year midfield Graham Dicken added two goals, while fifth-year midfield Justin Ranger registered three points with a goal and an assist. Varsity Blues scoring was rounded out by Ethan Milroy and Alexander May who each notched individual markers. Fourth-year goalie Benjamin Rishikof finished with 14 total saves.
Prior to the start of the game, the Blues participated alongside the Badgers in special ceremonies honouring the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This marked the second consecutive season the two teams stood side-by-side on the national day of recognition.
