BLUES FALL TO LAKERS AT VARSITY STADIUM

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's lacrosse team fell 19-4 to the Nipissing Lakers on Sunday (Sept. 13) afternoon at Varsity Stadium.

After a tight first quarter which saw big saves from fourth-year Blues goalie Benjamin Rishikof U of T found themselves trailing the 2025 CUFLA championship runners up by two goals after 15 minutes of play. A 10-0 scoring run from the Lakers put the visitors in the driver's seat in the second and third quarters but the Blues played hard and fought until the final whistle.

For Toronto, fifth-year midfielder Justin Ranger notched a two-goal performance. Meanwhile, fourth-year midfielder Graham Dicken finished off a crisp pass from third-year attack Kevin Yan to open the scoring for U of T. Also adding a goal was second-year attack Alexander Farrington.

On the Lakers side, Jack Quinn had a big afternoon with four goals and three assists. Zach Tarr notched six goals and one assist and Kaleb Fulkerson scored four goals.

The Blues will now turn their sights to the McMaster Marauders on Saturday (Sept. 26) afternoon in Hamilton. The opening faceoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
