Hosting their opponents at the University of Toronto Scarborough campus (UTSC), the Varsity Blues men's tennis team claimed two victories to open their 2026 campaign this weekend.

The Blues began their new season with an exciting 4-3 victory over the visiting Ottawa Gee-Gees on Saturday (Sept. 12). Toronto swept all three matches to claim the doubles point in the season opener before splitting singles matches three apiece. The duo of Ben Whitley and Eric Ma were most impressive on the day teaming up to win a doubles match while also both winning in their singles contests.

On Sunday (Sept. 13), U of T delivers an even more dominant 6-1 win over the Brock Badgers. Toronto was once again able to sweep the trio of doubles matches to secure the single point there before adding another five during singles action. Whitley proved to be strong once again with a doubles and singles win, while Rohan Sonah shined in his singles contest with a 6-0, 6-1 victory.

The Blues next host the Western Mustangs at UTSC on Sunday, Sept. 20.
