GRATTON NAMED OUA ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's volleyball outside hitter Maxime Gratton has been named OUA athlete of the week for the period ending February 15, 2026.

Gratton surpassed the 20 point plateau in back-to-back matches versus the Western Mustangs this past weekend, securing his place near the top of the OUA leaderboard in several statistical categories. On Friday, he finished with 22 total points tallying 21 kills and one service ace. He bettered that performance on Saturday with 24 kills, one ace and one solo block for a season-high 26 total points. He combined for 22 digs defensively across the two matches as well. At the conclusion of the regular season he ranks first in the OUA in total points (340.0) and points per set (4.5), while also finishing second in total aces (37), aces per set (0.49) and kills per set (3.64).

Gratton becomes the second U of T men's volleyball player to receive the weekly provincial honours following teammate Michael Hickey in mid-January.

The No. 6 nationally ranked Varsity Blues men's volleyball team continue their 2025-26 campaign with an OUA quarter-final showdown versus the Nipissing Lakers this Friday, Feb. 20 inside Goldring Centre - Kimel Family Field House. Tickets for the postseason contest are available at varsityblues.ca/tickets, with the match also streamed online via oua.tv.
