The University of Toronto Varsity Blues tennis teams travel just down the road this weekend (Oct. 9-11) for the 2026 OUA Tennis Championships, hosted by the University of Waterloo at Mayfair Club – Toronto East.

Both the Toronto men and women enter the provincial showcase as defending champions. As well, both teams also enter as undefeated teams having each completed a perfect 7-0 regular season schedule.

A roster full of returning champions, the Varsity Blues women will once again be led by the top duo of Anastasiya Dyadchenko and Maria Popova. The pair have been part of all three consecutive championship teams and serve in both the No. 1 doubles slot and top two singles positions. Dyadchenko is a two-time OUA MVP, while Popova was most recently named a national all-star at the 2026 Canadian University Tennis Championships. The depth of talent is continued with the likes of Kaira Xuan, Noelle Vanasse Wilbert, and Veronika Podobed just to name a few.

Meanwhile, the U of T men have continued to find success despite a transition to a youthful lineup. Leading the charge is second-year standout Lucas Mock, who earned both OUA all-star and OUA Rookie of the Year honours during the run to the championship last fall. Mock has continued to find success near the top of the Blues lineup alongside fellow third-year talents Ben Whitley and Stephen Wong.

The U of T men have won two of the last three OUA titles and 41 total provincial banners in program history. The Blues women, who have 42 OUA banners already, will be looking to earn a fourth straight. More championship details are available at oua.ca.
