The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's volleyball team defeated the RMC Paladins in straight sets on Friday (Jan. 30) night in Kingston.
Set scores in the match were 25-14, 25-6, 25-18.
Claiming a second straight win and the 10th win of the regular season, the Blues dominated the road contest. This was highlighted by a second set where Toronto did not concede a single kill to the home side, while reaching double-digit kills themselves throughout all three sets. U of T finished the quick match with 39 kills on a .252 hitting percentage, while adding seven service aces and 10 solo blocks in total.
Controling the middle, second-year standout Marie Boulerice led all Blues in the win with 16 points from nine kills and an outstanding seven solo blocks. Fourth-year outside hitter Olivia Zhu added eight kills, two service aces and one solo block to also reach double-digits.
First-year setters Marina Gustke and Louisa Cassidy split duties combining for 31 total assists across the three sets. Defensively, first-year outside hitter Roselle Mo notched a team-high nine digs, while third-year libero Delaney Watson registered eight.
Toronto and RMC will be right back on the court tomorrow (Jan. 31) afternoon with first serve in Kingston scheduled for 2 p.m.
