BLUES SUFFER FIRST LOSS OF THE SEASON AGAINST WESTERN

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's tennis team fell 4-3 to the Western Mustangs on Sunday (Sept. 28) afternoon at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus.

Western secured the first point of the day in doubles action. After dropping their first two matches the Blues got momentum back on their side as third-year player Charles Zheng and first-year Luka Kirigin ended doubles play on a high note.

Seventh-year aerosciences student Rassam Yazdi evened the score winning the first singles match of the day but three straight wins by Western put the Blues down 4-1. In the final two matches, first-year engineering student Alex Zhang and Zheng were victorious getting the Blues up to three points on the day.

The Blues are back in action on Saturday (Oct. 4) afternoon when they host McGill at UTSC. The game is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
