U OF T SCORES BIG IN ROAD WIN AT LAURENTIAN

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's lacrosse team earned an impressive 21-5 road win versus the Laurentian Voyageurs on Saturday (Sept. 27) afternoon in Sudbury.

Opening the game with four unanswered goals, U of T would build a lead that the home side could not respond too. Leading the charge for the Blues was fifth-year Teaching major Scott Del Zotto who finished the contest with six goals and seven assists. In just two games with the Blues this season, Del Zotto has already jumped into the Top 10 in CUFLA scoring with 16 points (9 G, 7 A). First-year midfielder Zach Abu-Ali led all players with eight goals for the Blues. Abu-Ali now also leads all of CUFLA with 23 total goals this season.

Goal-scoring for Toronto was rounded out by two from Griffin Campbell and single markers from Justin Ranger, Daniel Clark, Graham Dicken, Alex Farrington, and Jonathan Murawsky.

Harrison Sillaby earned the win in goal for the Blues.

U of T will next travel to St. Catharines to face the Brock Badgers on Tuesday, Sept. 30. Prior to start at 7 p.m., both the Blues and Badgers will participate in a special pre-game ceremony as part of National Truth and Reconciliation Day.
