The University of Toronto Varsity Blues field hockey team fell 1-0 to the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday (Sept. 27) afternoon in Waterloo, Ont.
With the loss, the Blues fall to 0-3 in the early goings of the 2025 season.
In the 45
th minute the Warriors grabbed the eventual game winning goal when Leah McPhee found the back of the goal. The Blues looked to battle back throughout the rest of the game but they were unable to get on the scoreboard after 60 minutes of play. The Blues took three penalty corners in the match meanwhile, Waterloo earned themselves four penalty corners.
First-year goalkeeper Mary Yang made four saves.
The Blues will be back in action on Sunday (Sept. 28) afternoon when they take on the Western Mustangs at York University in Toronto. The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
