The University of Toronto Varsity Blues are excited to share the commitment of Mary Yang to the field hockey program for the 2025 season.

Yang has represented Canada multiple times, including with the Junior Women’s National Team. She was a member of U18 Team Canada’s outdoor squad on their 2025 tour to France, the U18 Indoor Team Canada roster for their 2024 tour to Philadelphia, and co-captained U16 Team Canada on their 2023 outdoor tour to the Netherlands.
 
Yang has also built an impressive provincial and club resume. She competed with Team Alberta from 2019-24, earning a bronze medal and U16 Girls Best Goalkeeper honours at the 2023 national championship, and a Tournament 11 selection in 2022.
 
With Legacy Academy, she was named Best Goalkeeper at the 2025 Canadian Indoor Classic, won a silver medal at the 2024 California Cup, and captured back-to-back gold medals at the Cowichan Indoor Tournament in 2022 and 2023.
 
A standout at Ernest Manning High School, she capped her high school career by receiving the 2024 High School Field Hockey Coaches Award.
