The University of Toronto Varsity Blues cross country team's hit the track on Saturday (Sept. 27) at the Don Mills Open in Waterloo, Ont., with the women finishing third overall with 65 points and the men finishing in second place with 88 points.
Women's Results
On the women's side two Blues finished in the top three on the leader board. Fifth-year physical therapy student Julia Agostinelli won the women's 6km race, continuing her standout career in Blue and White as the 2025 U SPORTS 1500m champion finished the race in 21:20, 3.9 seconds ahead of the second-place finish. Fourth-year biomedical engineering student, Sarah White (22:24) finished third in the race. Rounding out the top five finishers for the Blues was Liana De Medeiros (23:07), Kaitlyn Koyanagi (23:42) and Claire Nolet (23:49).
Men's Results
In the men's 6km race fourth-year law student Nima Ashtari led the way for U of T, finishing in fourth-place with a time of 18:46. Fifth-year teaching student Brandon Cidade was the second highest placing Blue, finishing the race in 19:30. Rounding out the top five for U of T were Andreij Prekajski (19:35), Oliver Tagalog (19:42) and Nathan Bergman (20:28).
The Blues are back in action on Friday (Oct. 10) at the 8-Kay Marauder Invitational in Hamilton, Ont.
