WOMEN's TENNIS STAYS UNDEFEATED WITH WIN OVER WATERLOO

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's tennis team defeated the Waterloo Warriors 5-2 at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus on Sunday (Sept. 21) afternoon.

The Blues won all three doubles matches to earn the first point of the day as third-year industrial engineering student Veronika Podobed and second-year business administration student Kaira Xuan, a pair of third-year players Noelle Vanasse Wilbert and Felina Yang as well as the duo of third-year pharmacology and immunology student Maria Popova and first-year kinesiology student Ipek Battal were all victorious in their sets.

U of T won 3-2 in singles action as all six doubles participants took part in singles play. The Blues won the first three sets as Podobed, Xuan and Vanasse Wilbert all won their sets and Battal added another point for Toronto in the fifth match.

The Blues are back in action at UTSC on Sunday (Sept. 28) afternoon when they host the Western Mustangs. First serve is scheduled for 12 p.m.
