BLUES FALL TO GRYPHONS IN MISSISSAUGA

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's rugby team fell 55-5 to the Guelph Gryphons at the University of Toronto Mississauga campus on Saturday (Sept. 20) afternoon.

Guelph got off to a fast start in the game, scoring four successful tries in the first half. Gryphons players Jakob Schultz and Jon Musabelliu had successful conversions as the Blues went into halftime trailing 26-0.

U of T showed signs of life in the second half when fourth-year prop Vijay Kuo made his way past the try line to get the Blues on the scoreboard. As the half progressed the Blues looked to continue to cut into the deficit but strong defence from the Gryphons left Kuo's try as Toronto's lone scoring play.
Schultz scored two tries for Guelph, meanwhile Musabelliu had a game high three tries in the match.

The Blues are back in action on Saturday (Sept. 27) afternoon when they travel to St. Catharines, Ont., to take on the Brock Badgers. Kick off is scheduled for 1 p.m. and the game will be streamed live on oua.tv.
