WOMEN’S TENNIS CLAIMS VICTORY OVER QUEEN’S TO STAY UNDEFEATED

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's tennis team defeated the Queen's Gaels 6-1 on Sunday (Sept. 14) afternoon at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus.

Toronto claimed the first point of the afternoon in doubles play. The third-year duo Anastasiya Dyadchenko and Mario Popova, third-year Veronika Podobed and second-year Barbora Zaviskova and another third-year duo of Noelle Vanasse Wilbert and Felina Yang all won their matches. Podobed and Zaviskova swept their set.
In singles play, the Blues and Gaels each earned a point after the first two matches before four straight wins in singles pla
y put U of T in the driver's seat on their way to victory.

The Blues next match is on Saturday (Sept. 20) night against the York Lions in North York, Ont. The opening serve is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
