MEN’S TENNIS IMPROVES TO 2-0 WITH WIN OVER OTTAWA

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's tennis team defeated the Ottawa Gee-Gees 6-1 on Saturday (Sept. 13) afternoon at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus.

The Blues prevailed in two of three doubles matches. The duo of first-year Lucas Mock and seventh-year Rassam Yazdi claimed victory in the first doubles match, winning 8-7. Meanwhile, second-year players, Benjamin Whitley and Eric Ma won their match 8-2. Ottawa secured the first point in singles action but U of T wasn't phased, winning five straight sets to cap off the afternoon. Mock, an arts and science student, gave the Blues momentum sweeping his set as the Blues improved their record to 2-0 this season.

Toronto is back on the court at UTSC on Sunday (Sept. 14) afternoon when they host the Queen's Gaels. Opening serve is scheduled for 12 p.m.
