The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's tennis team heads to Montreal for the 2025 Canadian University championships, July 31 – August 3, at Saint-Victory Park in Laval.
The OUA defending champion Varsity Blues open the championships versus the five-time reigning national champion Alberta Pandas on Thursday morning at 9 a.m. The Laval Rouge et Or and Dalhousie Tigers are set to battle in the other semifinal of the day at 12 p.m. The winners of both semifinals will meet in the championship final on Saturday, August 2 at 12 p.m.
The Blues will be bolstered by back-to-back OUA players of the year Winnie Choi and Anastasiya Dyadchenko.
Choi, a third-year paramedicine major from Scarborough, Ont., is a two-time OUA player of the year (2024, 2022), OUA rookie of the year (2021) and two-time OUA all-star.
Dyadchenko, a second-year political science major, was named both the 2023 OUA rookie and player of the year and has twice earned OUA all-star honours in helping the Blues to two consecutive provincial banners.
