As announced by U SPORTS on Wednesday (Mar. 19) morning ahead of the 2025 BioSteel U SPORTS University Cup, Varsity Blues forward Owen Robinson has been recognized as a U SPORTS first team all-Canadian.
Following up on being named OUA West player of the year and an OUA first team all-star, the provincial scoring leader garnered the all-Canadian honour for the first time in his Varsity Blues career. He becomes the 20
th Varsity Blue men's hockey player to receive the national honour dating back to 1971, with the most recent recipient being David Thomson in 2020.
The fourth-year forward claimed the OUA's scoring title after registering 38 points across 28 regular season games during the 2024-25 campaign. His 23 assists also tied for third most in the OUA, while he additionally ranked among the Top 10 in the province in both power play goals (5) and game-winning goals (4).
Robinson's season was highlighted by a seven-game point streak and 11 multi-point games. Showcasing his ability to be a playmaker, he notched a single-game high five points (1 G, 4 A) in a 6-3 win over York in October. Additionally, his own goal-scoring ability was showcased in a late season run which saw him tally a goal in four of the last seven regular season games.
