The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's basketball team visited the York Lions on Friday night (Nov 14), starting their weekend with a 74-68 road loss.
Â
Through all four quarters of action, Toronto and York fought evenly. While the Blues shot an outstanding 57 percent in the second quarter, the Lions capitalized on U of T turnovers which were forced with a strong defensive press. Toronto would close the gap thanks to strong interior play which saw them capture over double the defensive rebounds (29-13), and 36 total points in the paint, but they were unable to draw even before the final whistle
Â
