The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's tennis team defeated McGill 4-3 on Saturday Oct. 4) afternoon at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus.

The Blues took all three sets in doubles play to earn the first point of the day. With 8-5 wins in the first two matches courtesy of the third-year duo of Anastasiya Dyadchenko and Maria Popova third-year industrial engineering student Veronika Podobed and first-year kinesiology student Ipek Battal it set the stage for second-year life science student Kiana Aboosaidi and third-year social sciences student Noelle Vanasse Wilbert to complete the sweep.

In singles play, Toronto and McGill traded victories as Podobed and second-year business administration student Kaira Xuan won their sets. It came down to the final match and a two-set win from third-year mathematics and physical science student Felina Yang kept U of T's undefeated season alive.

The Blues are back in action at UTSC on Sunday (Oct. 5) afternoon when they take on the Brock Badgers. Opening serve is scheduled for 12 p.m.
