CHOWN OUA MVP, CAVALLUZZO COACH OF THE YEAR; BLUES RECEIVE FOUR ALL-STARS

As announced by Ontario University Athletics (OUA) on Thursday afternoon, University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer defender Hannah Chown received the OUA East MVP, OUA East Community Service Award and first team all-star honours. In addition, Angelo Cavalluzzo received OUA East Coach of the Year, while Bryanna Campbell, Emilija Lucic and Anne Yeomans were all recognized as OUA East second team all-stars.

Concluding her U of T career with her fifth consecutive all-star recognition, Chown delivered on another sensational season to garner MVP honours as well. The teaching major from Mississauga led a strong defensive core for the Blues, limiting opponents to just 10 goals in 12 regular season contests. In addition to her ability to serve as the primary stopper guarding some of the best strikers from across the country, Chown also chipped in on the offensive end of the pitch with a goal and two assists. Marking the culmination of a five-year career that saw her appear in 55 regular season games and accrue 19 career goals in the Blue and White, Chown becomes the second Varsity Blue to OUA MVP honours following Erica Basso in 2008.

Chown was also recognized for the outstanding work done off the pitch. Becoming the fifth Varsity Blue to receive the OUA's Community Service Award, Chown has placed a focus on better the student-athlete experience for her peers working with the U of T and greater OUA communities. This has included as a student lead with Varsity Blues Student-Athlete Services, a co-chair with the Council of Athletics & Recreation (CAR) and Budget Committee at U of T, president of the Varsity Blues Varsity Board, and member within U of T's Women's Athletic Association Trust Advisory Committee and the OUA's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Shifting to the sideline, Cavalluzzo marks the third bench boss in program history to be named OUA Coach of the Year. Building a defensive identity for the Blues this season, Cavalluzzo led Toronto to a first-place finish in the OUA East division with a 9-2-1 (W-L-T) record. With a veteran-laden lineup, the Blues were able to record clean sheets in seven of their nine regular season wins, including four straight wins outscoring opponents 8-0 to begin the season.

Another fifth-year defender in the Blues lineup, Campbell also played a part in U of T's impressive defensive campaign utilizing her speed to cut-off opponents and push the ball forward to jump-start Toronto's attack. Receiving OUA all-star honours for the first time, she appeared in 11 regular season contests this fall, notching three goals including her first as a Varsity Blues in the season opener at Ontario Tech in late-August.

Also receiving all-star recognition for the first time, second-year engineering student Lucic provided an aggressive presence in the middle of the pitch. Appearing in 11 games through the fall, she finished the regular season with three goals and two assists, showcasing her aggressive style and playmaker abilities throughout the entirety of the 2025 campaign.

Rounding out the Blues honourees, Yeomans was named an OUA all-star for the second time in her five seasons wearing the Blue and White. A speedy forward from Calgary, Yeomans was on a hot-streak to begin the season scoring six goals across three straight games in early-Septemeber. Becoming the primary attacker opponents would have to gameplan for to slow down the Blues, she finished the season with seven goals in 11 appearances to lead the team and rank sixth in the OUA.
