Following a strong performance at the provincial championships last weekend, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues rowing teams head to Montreal for the Canadian University Rowing Championships (CURC) scheduled for Nov. 1-2.
The Blues will be riding high off a provincial bronze medal performance from the U of T women. With a gold medal in the LW8+ and additional Top 5 results in the LW4+ and LW2x, Toronto was able to step onto the overall podium at the OUA Championships. The result marked the highest finish for the women's team in 25 years.
Last fall at the national showcase event, the Varsity Blues women placed sixth, while the men were ninth overall in the team standings. With a consistent showing in the lightweight categories for the U of T women and a depth of talent on the men's side, both will be looking to elevate their results for 2025.
The 2025 national championship will be hosted at the Olympic Basin by McGill University. Training for teams will begin on Thursday, Oct. 30, while the first time trials are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1. Full event details can be found
