The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team enter the 2025-26 OUA regular season with renewed energy and focus.
The Blues are intent on proving themselves following a fourth-place finish in the OUA Central division last year, registering a 9-13 regular season record in 2024-25. Despite the loss of six players from the Blues 2024-25 roster, the energy remains high for a program built on playing team-first basketball. With a mix of core returning athletes and incoming talented rookies, Toronto have looked to a busy preseason schedule to begin building the necessary chemistry and combinations for opening night.

MARQUEE GAMES:
Nov. 2 vs. TMU
Part of the Blues home opener weekend, this match-up with the Bold always guarantees fireworks as a true rivalry contest to its core. A packed gym every time these two teams meet, the pair split their season series ago with each winning on their home court. Coming the very next night following a a contest versus another recent national contender in Lakehead, the Blues will need to bring everything they have to this home opening weekend inside the Goldring Centre Kimel Family Field House.
Jan. 9 v York
In Canada's basketball epicenter, the Lions mark a trio of teams that look to claim the title of best OUA program in the City of Toronto, but U of T will have their chance to stamp their claim in this first contest of 2026. The Blues have won five of the last seven meetings between these two programs, and hold a slight 17-16 advantage over York dating back to 2009. With U of T students returning to campus for the start of the winter semester there is sure to be a full crowd on hand.
Feb. 6 at Waterloo
The beginning of a crucial late season three-game road trip, the Blues will be looking to take down the Warriors in order to build postseason momentum. With three of their last four games on the road, including two in Waterloo, it will be critical for U of T to carry that same energy they get from the home crowd into opposing gyms.
