As announced by the Scarborough Shooting Stars this past Friday (May 15), University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball player Simeon Jeffers has signed with the CEBL club for the 2026 season.
Jeffers joins the Shooting Stars after a breakout third season with the Varsity Blues, receiving OUA all-star honours for the first time. Jeffers led U of T in scoring during the 2025-26 campaign averaging 15.8 points per game, while bumping that up to 17.7 during Toronto's postseason run to the OUA Final Four. The Kinesiology major appeared in all 22 regular season contests and three playoff games, while he also notched a new single game career-high 35 points versus Laurentian in late November. He surpassed 650 career points and 200 rebounds across 64 total appearances so far in his Varsity Blues tenure. Â
Jeffers marks the second Varsity Blues to join a CEBL team for the season, following the signing of Nigel Hylton by the Niagara River Lions in early April.
