The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's lacrosse team defeated the Laurentian Voyageurs 13-6 on Sunday (Oct. 12) afternoon at Varsity Stadium.
The Blues offence was firing on all cylinders in the first half. An early goal from third-year attack Daniel Clarke gave the Blues the icebreaker but Laurentian was able to respond. The Blues went on to score eight unanswered goals and took a commanding 9-3 lead into halftime. Keeping their foot on the gas pedal while playing a strong defensive game, the Blues added another four goals to their total on their way to their second straight win.
Clarke and first-year standout Zach Abu-Ali both finished the game with three goals each. Meanwhile, Graham Dicken, Alexander May and Alex Farrington all scored a pair of goals. Second-year attack Kevin Yan added a goal to U of T's total.
Third-year goalie Harrison Sillaby made 16 saves for Toronto.
The Blues will wrap up their regular season home schedule on Sunday (Oct. 19) afternoon when they host the Nipissing Lakers at Varsity Stadium. The opening face-off is scheduled for 1 p.m., and tickets are available at
varsityblues.ca/tickets. U of T students get free entry with a valid T-Card.
