The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's lacrosse team earned a 13-9 win over the visiting McMaster Marauders on Friday (Oct. 10) night at Varsity Stadium.
Tied 5-5 at the half, U of T came out of the break on a mission scoring four unanswered goals in the third quarter to pull away from the Marauders. The Blues maintained the four goal lead until, responding to each McMaster goal with another of their own all the way to the final whistle.
Fifth-year attack Scott Del Zotto notched a game-high four goals. Third-year midfielder Jonathan Murawsky tallied a hat-trick, while both third-year attach Daniel Clarke and second-year midfielder Alexander May had two goals apiece. Third-year midfielder Graham Dicken and first-year midfielder Zach Abu-Ali rounded out the Blues goal-scorers with single markers. Abu-Ali also tallied five assists.
Third-year goalie Benjamin Rishikof made 11 saves in the win for the Blues.
Toronto continues their four-game homestand welcoming the Laurentian Voyageurs to Varsity Stadium this Sunday (Oct. 12). Action begins at 1 p.m.
