CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES AT MARAUDER INVITATIONAL

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's and women's cross country teams competed at the 8-Kay Marauder Invitational on Friday (Oct. 10) afternoon in Hamilton, Ont.

WOMEN'S RESULTS

In the women's 8k the Blues finished in sixth-place in the overall standings with 156 total points. Fifth-year physical therapy student Julia Agostinelli continued her strong performances this fall with a second-place finish. The London, Ont., native finished the race in 27:30. Fourth-year biomedical engineering student Sarah White (28:59) was U of T's second fastest racer. Rounding out the top five for the Blues was second-year Liana De Medeiros (30:02), second-year Kaitlyn Koyanagi (30:44) and first-year Madison Sparkman (31:08).

MEN'S RESULTS

On the men's side, Toronto finished in seventh-place with 231 points. Leading the way for the Blues was fourth-year law student Nima Ashtari, finishing the race in 25:16. Second-year Oliver Tagalog (25:24) and second-year Andrej Prekajski (25:28) crossed the finish line shortly after. Rounding out the top five for U of T was fifth-year teaching student Brandon Cidade (25:45) and third-year Smith Falls, Ont., native Jacob McLean (25:56).

The Blues will now turn their attention to the OUA Championships, taking place on Saturday (Oct. 25) in Kingston, Ont.
