The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's soccer team fell to the No. 7 ranked Toronto Metropolitan University Bold by a score of 2-1 on Sunday, September 8 at Downsview Park.
This snaps the Blues three-game winning streak to open the season, as they now sit at 3-1 on the season. The Bold improve to 3-1.
The Varsity Blues second-half comeback efforts were not quite enough, as their late push was stymied by TMU's goalkeeping and defense. The lone Blues goal was scored early in the second half by rookie Niklas Hallam, who buried his sixth goal of the season after finding an open rebound that deflected off the post. The impressive rookie is now tied for the OUA goal-scoring lead after just four matches.
The Varsity Blues are back in action on Saturday, September 14 when they travel to Kingston to take on the Queen's Gaels. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:15 p.m.
