BLUES VICTORIOUS AGAINST GAELS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's soccer team secured a 2-0 victory over the Queen's Gaels on Saturday, September 14 at Richardson Stadium in Kingston.

With the win, the Varsity Blues improve to 4-1-0 on the season, while the Gaels remain winless at 0-4-1.

The first half saw both sides struggle to find the back of the net, and it was the Varsity Blues who broke through late in the second half. Second-year forward Andrea Schifano opened the scoring with a penalty kick goal in the 81st minute, his second of the season.

Just minutes later, rookie standout Niklas Hallam doubled the lead with an assist from Kingsley Belele, marking his seventh goal of the campaign.

Toronto dominated the match, recording 18 shots compared to Queen's three, and goalkeeper Maxwell Campeau earned his second clean sheet of the season with a strong performance in net.

The Varsity Blues return to action tomorrow when they face RMC in Kingston, Ontario. Kickoff is set for 3:15 p.m and the game can be streamed online via OUA.tv.
