BLUES SUFFER LATE DEFEAT TO RAVENS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision against the Carleton Ravens on Sunday, September 29 at Varsity Stadium.

The Blues had a strong first half, recording eight total shots. Ravens goalkeeper Chloe Lachance-Souland turned aside all five that were on target, keeping Toronto at bay. Paired with Toronto's strong defensive game, the first 45 minutes saw no scoring.

The second half saw plenty of back-and-forth action, with both the Ravens and Blues playing a fast-paced game. The Blues recorded eight more shots, and the Ravens added six of their own, three of which were on target.

With just seconds remaining in second half added time, Carleton midfielder Ava Mills scored from inside the 18-yard box to give the Ravens a late lead.

With this loss, the Blues fall to 4-3-1 on the season, while the Ravens improve to 4-3-2.

The Blues are back in action on Saturday, October 5 when they travel to Oshawa to visit the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. The game will be streamed live via oua.tv.
