SOFTBALL SPLITS ROAD TRIP AT QUEEN’S

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues softball team fell 5-4 before rebounding with an 8-1 victory versus the Queen's Gaels on Sunday, September 29 in Kingston, Ont.

Shirley Chan went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Alexa Aquanno collected two hits for Varsity Blues in two at bats.
 
Aquanno took the loss for Varsity Blues. The right-handed pitcher went four innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on four hits, striking out five and walking two.

Jamie Cho drove in five runs on two hits to lead the Varsity Blues to redemption in Game 2.  Cho tripled in the fourth inning, scoring three runs, and doubled in the fifth inning, scoring two.
 
Vanessa Jeffrey earned the win for Varsity Blues. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and one run over five innings, striking out two and walking one.
 
Olivia Mather and Cho each collected two hits for Varsity Blues.
 
The Blues wrap up their regular season next Friday, October 4 when they host the Gaels at Thomson Memorial Park.
