BLUES NARROWLY DEFEATED BY BADGERS

In a gripping five-set showdown, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's volleyball team narrowly fell to the Brock Badgers 3-2 on Saturday (Nov. 9) at Goldring Centre. Both teams battled hard, but Brock ultimately emerged victorious, winning the sets 25-18, 23-25, 20-25, 25-18, and 15-13.

Toronto displayed remarkable resilience and playmaking skills throughout the match, with a combined hitting percentage of .108 and 53 kills. The Blues showcased their offensive depth and tenacity, keeping each set closely contested.

Outside hitter Julia Murmann led the Varsity Blues with 19 kills and added 13 digs, while Giulia Chimilovski contributed 14 kills. Setter Robin Melnick played a pivotal role, recording 42 assists and delivering two service aces. On defense, libero Delaney Watson anchored the backline with 10 digs, helping Toronto hold strong against Brock's relentless offense.

Brock's offense was spearheaded by Laurin Ainsworth, who posted 12 kills and 18 digs, and Sadie Dick, who added 13 kills. Mackenna Knox facilitated their attack with 52 assists, enabling Brock to capitalize on crucial points in the final set.

The Blues will aim to bounce back on Friday, November 15 as they face the Windsor Lancers at 6 p.m. in Windsor. The game will be streamed online via oua.tv.
