Traveling to Victoria, B.C., for the 2024 Canadian University Rowing Championships (CURC), the University of Toronto Varsity Blues rowing teams closed out their fall competition schedule with the national event.
The national championship event featured 286 athletes from 21 universities across Canada. The Toronto women placed sixth overall in the team standings with 46 total points. The women's podium consisted of Victoria (119), UBC (110), and Queen's (90). Meanwhile, the Blues men finished in ninth with 26 points scored. The men's podium saw UBC (113), Brock (107), and Victoria and Western (86) as the top team point totals.
Following Saturday time trials, the Blues boats qualified for three A-Final. and six B-Finals. Producing Toronto's top results in the Sunday finals, the crew of  Sophie Corradini, Elena Eberhardt, Guinevere Reaume, Dayun Kong, and cox Katy Miller placed fifth in the Women's Lightweight 4+ A-Final with a time of 7:25.19, while the pair of Eberhardt and Corradini also earned fifth in the Women's Lightweight 2x A-Final with a time of 7:34.31. Also grabbing a Top 6 finish, the Men's 8+ crew of Kalan Couch, Orlando Weekes, Navraj Brar, Devansh Singhi, Sebastien Psarianos, Kamal Elboghdadi, Noah Campbell, Jackson Bon, and cox Peter Hansen placed sixth in the A-Final with a time of 6:03.22.
Rounding out the Blues Sunday results in the B-Finals, Toronto placed first in the Women's 8+, third in the Men's 1x, third in the Women's Lightweight 1x, fifth in the Women's 1x, sixth in the Men's 2-, and sixth in the Women's 2-,Â
With the fall schedule coming to a close, focus will shift to indoor events and offseason training, in addition to the annual Toronto-McGill Challenge scheduled to take place this spring in Montreal.
