WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL OVERPOWERS TMU IN STRAIGHT SETS

In a dominant display, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's volleyball team swept the Toronto Metropolitan University Bold 3-0 on Friday night (Nov. 22) at Goldring Centre. The Blues controlled the match from start to finish, winning the sets 25-15, 25-15, and 25-15.

Toronto delivered a well-rounded performance with a team hitting percentage of .274 and 41 kills. Their offense was orchestrated by setter Robin Melnick, who distributed 36 assists and contributed 12 digs, ensuring the Blues maintained a fluid and effective attack. Defensively, libero Delaney Watson was a standout, anchoring the backline with 25 digs and shutting down TMU's attempts to gain momentum.

Outside hitter Julia Murmann led the Blues with 14 kills, a .333 hitting percentage, and one service ace. Giulia Chimilovski was equally impressive, tallying 12 kills on a .429 hitting percentage and adding two service aces. Anna Gadomski and Natalia Souza also made significant contributions with five and three kills, respectively, showcasing the team's depth and cohesion.

For TMU, Scarlett Gingera stood out with six kills and four digs, while Jasmine Safar facilitated their offense with 14 assists.

Toronto improves to 3-4 on the season, while TMU falls to a 3-4 record.
