The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's basketball team faced a challenging game against the Western Mustangs tonight (Nov. 16), falling 85-57. 
 
Second-year guard Raya Hafez led the Blues offense, scoring 16 points on 7-15 shooting, including two three-pointers. Rookie guard Lia Barbieri added nine points and showed defensive hustle with three steals. In addition, first-year forward Zi Yang Wang made a strong contribution off the bench, scoring six points and leading the team in rebounds with seven.
 
Toronto's free-throw shooting was a bright spot during the game, hitting 81.8% of their attempts, and they showed resilience on the glass with 46 total rebounds, including 14 offensive boards.
 
Up next, the Blues will journey to Kingston, Ont. to face the Queen's Gaels on Saturday, November 22. Tip off is at 6 p.m. and the game can be streamed online via oua.tv.
