BLUES DOMINANT IN WIN AGAINST EXCALIBUR

The Varsity Blues of Toronto put on a stellar performance, cruising to a dominant 4-0 victory over Trent on October 6, 2024, at Justin Chiu Stadium. From start to finish, the Blues controlled the game, showcasing both offensive prowess and defensive stability.

Toronto's offensive pressure paid off in the 27th minute when Andrea Schifano, assisted by Niklas Hallam, opened the scoring with a well-placed shot, giving the Blues a 1-0 lead. Not long after, Mehdi Essoussi doubled the advantage with a brilliant solo goal in the 40th minute, making it 2-0 just before halftime.

The second half saw Toronto maintain their momentum. Russell Stewart added a third goal in the 77th minute, thanks to a smart assist from Essoussi, while Kingsley Belele capped off the Blues' dominant display with a stunning unassisted goal just two minutes later to make it 4-0.

Goalkeeper Alex Lin was solid between the posts, making three key saves to preserve the clean sheet. The defense, led by Lin, held Trent to only seven shots throughout the match, while Toronto fired off 12 shots, with seven of them on target.

Despite a rain delay and a few yellow cards, the Varsity Blues remained composed and focused, securing an impressive win that reflects their strong form this season. With this commanding victory, Toronto now sits at 7-2-1, continuing their march forward in the season.
