The University of Toronto Varsity Blues field hockey team shutout the Queen's Gaels 2-0 on Sunday (Oct. 6) afternoon on Back Campus Fields, sweeping the home-and-home series this weekend with the Gaels.
The Blues opened the scoring just four minutes into the game with a goal from Elizabeth Assimes.
Toronto kept up the pressure all throughout the game, recording ten shots total, with eight on goal. Molly Koop scored at the 48-minute mark to double Toronto's lead, with Assimes picking up the assist.
Deepi Gill recorded the win and shutout for the Blues, who improve their record to 5-0-1 with a fifth consecutive win.
The Blues are back on home turf on Wednesday, October 9 when they host the York Lions on Back Campus Fields. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
