The University of Toronto Varsity Blues field hockey team defeated the Queen's Gaels 3-1 on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 5) at Tindall Field in Kingston, Ont.
 
Queen's opened the scoring 1:25 into the game with a goal from Kate Martin; however the Blues evened the score when Ziara Scaringi found the back of the net before the end of the first quarter.
 
Toronto's McKinley Kennedy and Jayden Novak scored two goals within three minutes of each other to take a 3-1 lead into halftime.
 
Deep Gill earned the win in net for the Blues.
 
The Blues complete the home and home with Queen's tomorrow (Oct. 6) as they host the Gaels at 2 p.m., at Back Campus Fields.
