The University of Toronto Varsity Blues field hockey team picked up their eighth win of the season with a 5-0 victory on Saturday, October 19 against the McGill Martlets.

Molly Koop opened the scoring just seven minutes into the game with her third goal of the season, giving the Blues an early tally that would prove to be the difference. Sophia De Uria found the back of the net three minutes later for her second goal of the campaign.

Koop added her second of the game late in the second quarter to give the Blues a 3-0 lead heading into the half. Alicia Lung led the Blues in the second half, scoring her first and second goals of the season to extended the lead and secure the Blues eighth consecutive victory.

Toronto controlled play for the majority of the game, recording 20 shots, 14 on goal, and holding McGill to just two, neither of which were on target. The Blues had 11 penalty corners, giving them plenty of offensive opportunities throughout the match.
Charlotte Pennell picked up her first win and shutout of the season.

The Blues close out their regular season with another matchup against the visiting Martlets on Sunday, October 20 at Back Campus Fields. Game time is scheduled for 11 a.m.
