The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team beat the Windsor Lancers 83-75 on Saturday (Jan. 13) night in Windsor, Ont.
Toronto started off the game on a strong note, keeping the Lancers within reach. Windsor finished the quarter with a one-point lead (19-18). In the second quarter, the Blues offence picked up, outscoring the Lancers 23-17, giving the blue and white a 41-38 lead heading into the second half.
The Blues held the momentum into the third quarter, increasing their lead to 14 points (68-54). While the Lancers pushed back in the fourth, it wasn't enough to cut the deficit, leaving the Blues victorious 83-75.
Toronto was led by guard Callum Baker who scored a game-high 22 points, along with nine rebounds and four assists. Blues Forward Lennart Weber was a force underneath the basket, picking up a game-high 11 rebounds, as well as recording 13 points.
Xavier Ochu was the Lancers standout player scoring a team-high 19 points and finished the game with seven rebounds and two assists.
