The Varsity Blues men's rugby team lost 41-7 to the Waterloo Warriors on Friday (Sept. 29) night at Varsity Stadium.
The Warriors opened the scoring in the 19
th minute with Thomas Wells-Richards completing his first of two tries in the game. With a minute remaining in the half, Stratton Windsor extended the Warriors lead with a try of his own.
The Blues would not go down without a fight though, with Eric Vann scoring a try in the final minute of the half to cut into Waterloo's lead, before Tyler Lane connected on the conversion.
In the second half, the Warriors would complete five tries, including two more from Windsor and two from Max Zhurba.
The Blues return to the field on Friday, October 6 when they play the McMaster Marauders in Hamilton, Ont. Kick-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
