BLUES UNABLE TO SLOW DOWN MUSTANGS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's lacrosse team dropped a third consecutive CUFLA regular season matchup, falling 13-3 to the visiting Western Mustangs on Saturday (Sept. 23) evening.

Facing off against the undefeated Mustangs at Varsity Stadium, Toronto was unable to slow down Western, conceding four unanswered goals through the first half.

Finally solving the Western defence in the third quarter, Blues first-year attack Jonathan Murawsky registered the first marker of the day for Toronto taking advantage of a big rebound following a strong Graham Dicken shot from the outside.

However, after Murawsky added another goal for Toronto early in the fourth quarter, the Mustangs went on another run of five unanswered goals.

The Blues would register the last score of the game as Josh Davenport set up second-year attack CJ Sarvinis to close out the contest.

A tough string of opponents will continue for Toronto as they next head to Guelph to face the Gryphons on Saturday, Sept. 30. The road contest is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. start.
