The U of T Varsity Blues women's hockey team fell 3-0 in exhibition action against the Princeton Tigers Friday (Sept. 22) night.
Fifth-year goaltender Erica Fryer had a game high 23 saves against a Tigers offence that peppered the Blues throughout the game.
The Blues' defence blocked 21 Princeton shots. Third-year defender Kalie Chan led the way for Toronto with six blocks on the night.
After a scoreless first period the Tigers broke the dam midway through the second when Princeton's third-year defender Kate Monihan beat Fryer to put the Blues down one.
Princeton added two insurance goals in the third period including an empty net goal near the end of the closing frame to secure the 3-0 win.
The Blues exhibition season continues Sunday, September 24 when they take on the Cornell Big Red at 3 p.m.
