The Varsity Blues men's soccer beat the Nipissing Lakers 1-0 to grab their first win of the season on Sunday (Sept. 10) afternoon at Varsity Stadium. 
 
The Blues came out flying in the first half, taking seven shots with three on target. U of T was unable to get one past Nipissing goalie Ryan Miners, who finished the game with six saves. 
 
With 15 minutes to play, Blues midfielder Quinton Chung made his mark on the game by scoring off a corner from Andrea Schifano. 
 
Schifano and fellow Blues forward Russell Stewart finished the game with two shots on net. 
 
U of T now look ahead to the Battle of Toronto, where they will face off against TMU at Downsview Park on Saturday, September 16 at Downsview Park. Kick-off is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.
