The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's basketball team fell to the McMaster Marauders 84-41 in their home opener on Saturday (Nov. 4) night at the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.

In the first quarter, the Marauders grabbed an early lead, finishing the quarter with a 19-8 lead. Rookie guard Raya Hafez finished the quarter with five points. Hafez wrapped up the game with a team-high 10 points. At the half, the Marauders extend their lead to 38-20. 
 
The Marauders continued to extend their lead through the second half, ultimately taking the game 84-41. 
 
Up next, the Blues will head to Hamilton, Ont. to face-off against the McMaster Marauders for the second of their back-to-back matches. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.  The game will be streamed online via oua tv.
