The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team lost 77-63 to the Brock Badgers in the first game of the season on Friday (Nov. 3) night in St. Catharines, Ont.
After trailing 8-2 early in the first quarter, the Blues battled hard going on a 13-2 scoring run to put them in the lead. Toronto would hold an 18-16 lead following the first. In the second quarter, the Badgers recorded 28 points while propelling themselves into the lead heading into halftime (44-31).Â

The Blues would not go down without a fight, and in the third quarter outscored the Badgers 19-13, cutting in to Brock's lead (60-50). Blues forward Lennart Weber and guard Callum Baker led the way for the Blues in the third quarter push with eight and six points respectively. Baker finished the game with a game-high 18 points and seven assists. Despite battling hard into the fourth quarter, the Blues were unable to get past the Badgers, dropping the game 77-63.
