The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's water polo team dispatched of the McMaster Marauders 29-1 in an OUA semifinal showdown on Saturday (Nov. 25) night in Ottawa.
10 different Blues players recorded a goal in the decisive win, with four players recording four or more.
Leading the Blues on the night was first-year attack Omer Sayli who tallied an impressive five goals in the win. Meanwhile, the trio of third-year power forward Cameron Hexter, fourth-year utility David Li, and first-year utility Calan Falconer each added another four goals to Toronto's tally.
Fourth-year attack Patrick Conn notched a hat-trick, while third-year power forward Diego Gonzalez Delgado, third-year attack Timmy Pourkazemi, third-year attack James Glaser, and second-year centre forward Daniel Gonzalez Delgado each potted a pair. Blues scoring was rounded out by an individual marker from second-year centre defence Aidan Principe.
Miguel Garcia Alonso earned the win in goal for the Blues.
The Blues will challenge the host Ottawa Gee-Gees in the gold medal match tomorrow (Nov. 26) evening. The championship final is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. inside the Nepean Sportsplex.
