The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team fell to the McMaster Marauders 80-78 on Saturday (Nov. 11) night in Hamilton, Ont.
In the first quarter, the Blues kept close to the Marauders to start the game, but McMaster would go on a scoring run late in the quarter to lead 25-13. The Blues battled hard in the second quarter, holding the Marauders lead to 12 (42-30). Third-year guard Aleer Aleer-Leek recorded a game-high five points in the quarter. The Toronto, Ont. native shot two-for-three from the field, while shooting one-for-two from behind the arc.Â

In the second half, the Blues came out strong, cutting into the Marauders lead, while outscoring them 27-18 in the third quarter (60-57). Despite the Blues effort and a 13-point quarter from Callum Baker, the Marauders would go on to take the game 80-78.Â

Blues forward Anthony Daudu picked up a double-double in the game, recording 12 points and 16 assists.Â
