The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's lacrosse team dropped a 9-3 match versus the Nipissing Lakers on Saturday (Oct. 7) evening at Varsity Arena.

Challenging the opponents from North Bay for the first and only time this season, the Blues found themselves battling from behind early as the Lakers outscored Toronto 3-1 through the first quarter.

However, U of T drew even before half as Daniel Clarke scored his second goal of the game and Neil Bains tallied a single marker both in the second quarter to make it a 3-3 contest at the break.

Nipissing would prove to be too much though in the second half as they went on to score six unanswered goals through the final two quarters of action.

The Blues will look to get back on track next heading to Hamilton on Wednesday, Oct. 11 to face the McMaster Marauders. Last season Toronto claimed two wins over the Marauders in their home-and-home season series.
