MEN'S BASKETBALL CRUISE PAST COLTS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team defeated the visiting Centennial Colts by a final score of 102-68 in preseason action at the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport on Friday (Oct. 6) night.

Continuing a busy preseason schedule, the Blues were dominant in the home victory with all 12 players that saw the floor recording five or more points, while the team nailed 14 three-pointers and finished the game shooting nearly 50 percent from the floor.

Toronto's offence was paced by a game-high 18 points from second-year swingman Noah Ngamba, who also added seven rebounds, six assists, and one steal in his 20 minutes of action. The Blues also saw strong performances from forwards Ryan Rudnick and Simeon Jeffers with both registering 12 points and six rebounds in the win. Double-digit scoring was rounded out by Anthony Daudu and Lennart Weber who tallied 11 and 10, respectively.

The Blues will next host the Laval Rouge et Or at the Goldring Centre on Friday, Oct. 13, before concluding their preseason schedule at the McGill Basketball Classic in Montreal from October 20-22. Tip-off versus Laval next Friday is scheduled for 6 p.m. with tickets available online at varsityblues.ca/tickets.
